What is Street Soccer?

In its most basic form, street soccer, or futbol de calle, encompasses a number of informal pickup soccer games played in streets, alleys, parks and in gyms around the world. These informal games normally have few requirements and are typically free-flowing, raw games with no officials, parents and few, if any, fans. Set-ups are basic with small fields, goals, teams and rules that are often negotiable. The game can be played with just a ball, with a wall or fence used as a goal, or items such shoes or clothing used for goalposts. Street soccer players are called callejeros and they will always wear their favorite professional jerseys - FC Barcelona, Manchester United, AC Milan, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Liverpool.

Why Street Soccer?

The streets bring different people together and the beautiful game of soccer inspires, encourages and builds vibrant communities that bridge cultures and continents. LG Sports Group, through programs like PlayCalleSoccer, wants to celebrate the beautiful game with music and culture. Whether in alley-ways of the inner city to recreational parks in the local suburbs to professional stadiums and training grounds PlayCalleSoccer is taking futbol back to the streets.
